As utility costs continue to climb in the State of Illinois, State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) is partnering with the Illinois Citizens Utility Board (CUB) on December 4 for a FREE session on how to reduce electricity costs.
From 3:00 PM until 5:00 pm, individuals will have an opportunity to speak one-on-one with a CUB counselor to receive a personalized analysis of their energy bills. To that end, attendees should bring their most recent utility bills with them.
CUB Utility Bill Clinic
Thursday, December 4
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Wheaton City Hall
303 W. Wesley Street, Wheaton
Registration for this event is required, and walk-in visitors will not be able to be accommodated.
Attendees will receive information on:
- Solar and electrification programs that can help lower your utility bills
- Rebates and strategies for reducing energy costs through efficiency programs and DIY solutions for homeowners and renters
- Spotting unnecessary charges on your gas and electric bills
- Income-qualified financial assistance programs
“As utility bill costs continue to climb, I hear regularly from people who are having a hard time paying these bills, so I’m glad to offer this important community outreach and educational program,” said Lewis. “Having an opportunity to meet individually with a CUB expert will allow every resident to ensure they are not paying one cent more than is necessary for gas and electricity service.”
