Senator Seth Lewis to Partner on FREE Document Shredding Event & Food Drive in Wheaton

State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) and State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) are inviting their constituents to safely dispose of old bank records, receipts, and other sensitive documents at a free document shredding event that will be held in Wheaton on Saturday, October 25, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The shred truck will be on-site until 12:00 or until it is full. Non-perishable food items and toiletries will also be collected and donated to the Milton Township Food Pantry.

Document Shredding & Food Collection Event
Saturday, October 25
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or until shred truck is full)
Wheaton Park District’s Rice Pool Waterpark Lot
1777 South Blanchard Street, Wheaton

Participants are asked to follow traffic signs and remain in their vehicles. Shred truck staff will unload cars, and parking will be available for those who wish to see their documents fed into the shredder. While paper folders, staples, and paper clips can be fed into the shredder, large binder clips, plastic file folders, and old floppy discs cannot. Additionally, no electronics will be accepted for recycling or disposal.

“It’s a pleasure to partner with Representative Grant to offer this free service for the residents we serve,” said Lewis. “I’m sure we all have sensitive documents that are in need of safe, secure disposal, and this event provides the perfect avenue for the destruction of documents.”

For additional information on this event, constituents can call Senator Lewis’ office at (630) 349-0645 or email Abby at amccarthy@sgop.ilga.gov.
