Family-friendly fun including demonstrations from the Bloomingdale Police K-9, a “Touch-a-Truck” display, the Traveling World of Reptiles show, a landing of the University of Chicago Aeromedical Network (UCAN) helicopter, giveaways and more will be featured at a FREE Children’s Safety Expo hosted by State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett), and State Representatives Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) and Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) on September 13.
Children’s Safety Expo
Saturday, September 13
9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
Erickson Elementary School
227 Springfield Drive, Bloomingdale
“This free event is a good way for kids and their parents to come out and have some fun while learning valuable information about topics like nutrition and fire safety,” said Lewis. “I hope families will come out and enjoy the Traveling World of Reptiles show and take the opportunity to meet some of the local law enforcement officers and first responders that keep our communities safe.”
Admission is free and there will be free giveaways at the event. Demonstrations at the expo include:
- 9:30 AM: Bloomingdale Police K-9
- 10:00 AM: Traveling World of Reptile Show
- 11:30 AM: Stardom Dance Academy
- 12:00 PM: Drawing and Giveaways
The interactive “Touch-a-Truck” exhibit will be at the Safety Expo as well, and kids are invited to see, touch, and get behind the wheel of their favorite squad car, fire truck, snow plow and more. Local professionals will be available to answer questions about the equipment they use and the work they do.
“We have an excellent roster of organizations that will be in attendance and available to provide useful resources and safety information for families, as well as fun and interactive activities for the kids,” added Lewis. “This promises to be a really fun event!”
