Senator Seth Lewis’ Legislative District to Receive $265,066 in State-Sponsored Library Grants

State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) is pleased to announce that $265,066 in state-sponsored library grants have been approved for libraries and other community literacy programs in the 24th Senate District.

“Community libraries in this region are a tremendous resource,” said Lewis. “I am pleased to know that a portion of this year’s library grant funds will be channeled toward libraries and important community literacy programs right here in the 24th Senate District.”

Libraries and literacy agencies in the 24th Senate District that will receive funds include:

  • Carol Stream, World Relief DuPage/Aurora & Chicago: $100,000, Community Literacy
  • Roselle, Metropolitan Asian Family Services: $35,000, Community Literacy
  • Wheaton, Literacy DuPage: $100,000, Community Literacy
  • Wood Dale, Wood Dale Public Library District: $30,066, Library Services & Technology Act Grants- Project Next Generation

 

“This annual program, which is overseen by the Secretary of State, provides vital funding to support operations and improvements at Illinois’ public libraries and for literacy programs across the state,” added Lewis. “I know these funds will be put to good use across the 24th District, and I thank the Secretary of State’s Office for making the distributions.”
