Close to $5 Million in OSLAD Grants Coming to Communities in Senator Seth Lewis’ 24th Senate District

State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) has announced that close to $5 million in Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grants are coming to communities in the 24th District.

“I was pleased to see that communities in the 24th District received a large share of the total grant funds this year,” said Lewis. “The funds will go far in assisting with some very welcomed recreational projects for those living in this region.”

Established by the Illinois General Assembly in 1986, OSLAD is a cost-sharing program between state and local governments that helps communities fund land acquisition and development for parks and outdoor recreation projects.  For the current year, cities, villages, park districts, and forest preserve districts had an opportunity to apply for the grants over the last several months.

Communities in the 24th Senate District that received grants include:

  • Bartlett Park District: $600,000
  • Addison Park District: $600,000
  • Bensenville Park District: $570,100
  • Bloomingdale Township: $150,000
  • City of Warrenville: $600,000
  • Lisle Park District: $600,000
  • Roselle Park District: $600,000
  • Village of Itasca: $600,000
  • Winfield Park District: $600,000

A summary of the projects with descriptions can be found here.

“The 24th District is home to some of the most beautiful and family-friendly parks in the state, so I was thrilled to learn that these OSLAD grant funds are coming to communities in my district,” said Lewis. “These funds will go far in making great park systems even better.”
